 |  Facebook mauled by European watchdog A Belgian regulator has urged people to install privacy software to prevent Facebook from tracking their accounts. The regulator, who is also cooperating with other authorities in Germany the Netherlands, France and Spain, has been investigating how Facebook goes about its business. According to Reuters, the European Commission believes Facebook “tramples on European and Belgian privacy laws”. Facebook does not recognise EU national boundaries and maintains the only laws it has to obey are those of the Irish Republic, home to its European HQ. Facebook has failed to tell the European Commission how it uses peoples’ data.
