| Electric bus goes up in flames London's burning A fleet of electric buses has been pulled off the roads after a doubledecker burst into flames in south London. Transport for London (TfL) said the electric buses had been "yanked" by operator GoAhead. The move is a "safety measure" while looking into the Wimbledon Hill Road bus fire. TfL's bus boss, Tom Cunnington, said that London's bus network is "safe to use" after the 200 bus route drama between Mitcham and Raynes Park. "As a safety measure, the fleet of buses that usually run on route 200 is being pulled off the roads by GoAhead while they look into it, with other buses being brought in to fill in," he said. "All buses made by the same maker will be appropriately checked immediately. "Other buses in the fleet are still on the roads, and TfL and bus operators will act fast if necessary to ensure the network is safe." https://fudzilla.com/news/58263-elec...s-up-in-flames |
