Default Doom 3 vs. Half Life 2: Regardless of Which is Better, We All Lose

When I first began computer gaming, the big way to boost your l33t status, to get those crazy visuals, and to really “immerse” yourself in the game…was to buy a color video card and monitor. Its difficult to express how old that makes me feel, but it drives home a point about how much computer gaming has changed over the past twenty years. I still remember articles discussing the purity of the “monochrome gaming experience”, or debating whether a 3.5” floppy drive was worth the money.
