| Credit card board can run a Intel Core Tiger Lake or AMD Ryzen V2000 processor AAEON comes up with a rather cool micro machine AAEON has released a Raspberry-type card which can run an Intel Tiger Lake processor up to a Core i7-1185G7E, or an AMD Ryzen Embedded V2000 SoC up to Ryzen Embedded V2516. Dubbed de next-TGU8 and de next-V2K8, the SBCs offer sets of features different from the usual Raspberry Pi form factor including up to 16GB RAM, SATA and NVMe storage, dual Ethernet (1x 2.5GbE, 1x Gigabit Ethernet), dual 4K display output via HDMI and eDP, some USB 3.2 ports, as well as serial and I/O interfaces via headers. AAEON will not suggest supported operating systems, but since those are x86 platforms Windows and Linux should be supported, although Windows 11 may only work on the Tiger Lake model (TBC). Target applications are expected to include edge AI computing, robotics, UAV/drones, and smart transport. Cooling will be a challenge for a 15W processor on such as small board and so far no one has released any tests. There is no word on pricing yet but mass production is scheduled for Q3 2022. https://fudzilla.com/news/pc-hardwar...2000-processor |
