Connect Ultrabooks and Tablets to a Gigabit home network via USB 3.0

The new LN-032 USB 3.0 Gigabit Network Adapter from Sitecom allows users to easily equip devices that come with a USB 3.0 port but without a Gigabit Ethernet port such as many of the latest Ultrabooks and Android Tablets with access to wired Internet speed of 1000 Mbps.

Rotterdam, May 2013 - Sitecom introduces the LN-032, a new USB 3.0 Gigabit Network Adapter, that allows access to full Gigabit wired Internet speed via USB. Thanks to the new USB 3.0 SuperSpeed standard, it is possible to reach the full speed of the Gigabit Internet connection of 1000 Mbps for the very first time through a USB Network Adapter. The new LN-032 is the ideal companion for Ultrabooks, Tablets, Netbooks and Notebooks that come equipped with the latest USB 3.0 technology but do not feature an Ethernet port. The LN-032 can equip these devices with access to the Gigabit home network, ideal for multimedia applications that involve streaming and downloading multiple HD-Movies.

USB 3.0 SuperSpeed

The new USB 3.0 SuperSpeed standards support data transfer rates of up to 5 Gbps, ten times faster than the USB 2.0 HighSpeed standard that supports a rate of 480 Mbps. This new maximum rate of 5 Gbps allows for the full throughput of the Gigabit Ethernet port to actually reach the connected device and have a real transfer rate of 1000 Mbps.

Compatibility

The LN-032 USB 3.0 Gigabit Network Adapter offers maximum compatibility in terms of operating systems and older technologies. The network adapter works with all Windows operating systems, including Windows 8, and with Mac OS X. The LN-032 is backward compatible to USB 2.0 and to 10/100 Mbps wired networks. No special power adapter is needed for the LN-032, the adapter is supplied with power via the USB connection. It is fully Plug-and-Play and is ready to be used within seconds. The two LED indicator allow for simple device diagnostic.

The LN-032 USB 3.0 Gigabit Network Adapter is available now and comes with the extensive 10-year Sitecom warranty
