| Build Your Own HTPC While AMD’s stock heatsink/fan unit that they ship with their retail processors nowadays is quite robust, sporting heatpipes and a copper base, it still isn’t what we’d classify as a powerful cooling solution. It gets the job done all right, but at times it has to crank up the fan’s RPMs in order to keep the processor adequately cooled. This is okay if noise isn’t an issue to you, but in an HTPC, most users are going to want their system to run as quietly as possible at all times, even under load when the processor is being pushed its hardest.

| If you buld a small HTPC you don't have room to fit 90% of the aftermarket CPU coolers; in a semi-small Antec Aria I'm unable to fit the AC Freezer or a Thermalright XP-90...

| Thank god they didn't recommend the Silverstone-cases uke: I bought there high-end LC16m case. After 3 months, I still don't have a working VFD and they don't reply to emails, nice service for a case of €250+ (without psu!) |

| On the 5th of may, I've send a mail to info@silverstonetek.com Today, I've send one to info@silverstonetek.de, I gave them 2 weeks or I will contact some consumer programme (hopefully, they can do something). I found both addresses on their site (www.silverstonetek.com) It's going so slow. First, you have to send the display to them (Germany), 2 weeks after the arrival, they wake up and send a 'new' one. This worked for about a half a minute, then a circuit on the PCB burned (baantje op de PCB doorgebrand in't Nederlands ). This one was, again, sent to Germany. 2 weeks silence, then a telephone to the shop where I bought it, they would send a new one. 3 days later, the same broken VFD arrived :grum: Again, it had to be send to Germany. It's there for 3 weeks now, still no reply. I've had a problem with an Antec psu some time ago, didn't get replaced for a long time (problem with the Belgian distributor), one mail to Antec and a week later my new psu arrived. Thats the kind of service I'm expecting from silverstone. Now, there just isn't any service. The best part: when the first VFD was sent, they said it was MY fault, I connected it in a wrong way. Sure, if installed more then 20 pc's with card readers connected to the motherboard-usb-connectors, not a single one connected wrong. Now, I'm connecting it in a wrong way |
