Default Asustek Updates Mainboards’ Firmware to Support Intel’s New Processors

Asustek Computer, the world’s largest maker of mainboards, on Monday announced a series of motherboards that will support Intel’s new Core 2 central processing units (CPUs) with 1333MHz processor system bus (PSB). Apparently, Asustek enables 1333MHz bus support even on motherboards that do not officially support it. The move allows owners of appropriate platforms to upgrade to newer chips without mainboard change.
