| ASRock A780GHM/128M AMD 780G+SB710 Mainboard Preview ASRock has introduced a few AMD 780G mainboards in the past. As it is a mature chipset, we won't spend time looking at the north bridge. Our readers should already be aware what 780G offers. This north bridge offers an integrated Radeon HD 3200 DX10 graphics with 128M Side port memory support. It also supports the seldom talked about Hybrid CrossFire. In fact, the more important update is the paired south bridge. Instead of the SB700, this board uses a newer south bridge SB710. In fact, SB710 isn't a very new product. It's feature set is similar to the SB750. SB710 is basically a SB750 with the RAID 5 support removed. It is a way to cut costs when especially pairing it up with an aged north bridge. As the SB710 is the little brother of SB750, it inherits the AOD ACC support. If you remember, we revealed that the boards with SB750 with ACC enabled actually turns on the 4th core on the tri core processors. Would SB710 be able to achieve the same effect, turning a tri core X3 710 or 720 into a full fledge quad core processor by just enabling the ACC to enabled in the BIOS? http://my.ocworkbench.com/2009/asroc...-Review/g1.htm
