I would recommend fitting the cooler on first with no thermal grease and checking it from all angles to ensure that all of the components on your card will clear the plastic casing -- there was only one little heatsink keeping it from seating perfectly level on this XFX 6800 Ultra. I just removed the sink and bent the fins over so they're not as tall. It fits perfectly now.

Not much of temp reduction ...... no sound measurement; would you give up your expensive graphic card warranty?

my noise measurements with ATI1 AC cooler is ~4dBA versus stock hercules fan on R9700Pro

temp is also reduced, but need to test it by OC'ing as the R9700Pro does not have on-die temp probe, and external temp probe measurements are off

It improved my clocks and the noise level a lot on aSapphire card with the default cooling (the ATI cheapskate solution)

I have such a cooler on my Galaxy Glacier 6800GT and is whisper quiet, plus it moves hot air out my case which improves my airflow.

My idle temp is 49-50 C an doverclocking wise I can have a stable 425/1120.

Sapphire sucks d..k :spank:

I had the ATI 9800 Pro with that same cheapskate cooler and it would shut down if I would try to play Far Cry at 1280*1024 even with all low settings.

Cheap piece of ****:spank:
