| Apple advertising shows lack of self-awareness Christmas advert implies Apple is caring and sharing open source outfit With is a usual complete disregard for the truth, the fruity cargo cult Apple has pushed a Christmas advert which implies it is open source. The Tame Apple Press is full of praise for Apple’s heartwarming advert about sharing gifts for Christmas and it even was awarded the title of the 9th Best Commercial of 2018 by Apple fans in Adweek. "Have you ever made something wonderful but were too afraid to share it?" asks Apple's heartwarming "Share Your Gifts" 2018 holiday ad. The advert features a girl with a tiny head and a huge body who keeps her creations secret until they're let out into the world by her dog and enjoyed by everyone around her. However, the advert ignores the fact that Apple is that small brained girl and any sequel would show her suing the arse off the small dog for breaking its patents or it would call her black shirted security team to arrest her dog for corporate spying. Not that Apple would ever own a dog, unless it was prepared to pay three times more for its dog food and could tell the other dogs how much better it was. In fact the only thing good about the advert is that it hardly shows Apple products. The advert is inspired Apple’s god Steve Jobs, who also had a similar self-awareness issue. More than 35 years ago he preached a similar "Real Artists Ship" message to the original Mac team. In 1983 he forced his team to work through the holidays in a desperate bid to make himself extraordinarily rich. Andy Hertzfeld said: "The software team worked hard over the Christmas break of 1983. [...] By the first week of January, the software team was working around the clock, testing and fixing problems that were found. [...] Randy Wigginton brought in a gigantic bag of chocolate covered espresso beans, which, along with medicinal quantities of caffeinated beverages, helped us forego sleep entirely for the last couple of days." Seeing Apple spin "Real Artists Ship" into "Share Your Gifts" -- which Adweek honoured as the 9th Best Commercial of 2018 -- would no doubt be appreciated by the master of Reality Distortion Jobs as having nothing to do with actual reality and everything to do with creating a false picture of the evil empire. https://fudzilla.com/news/mobile/478...self-knowledge |
