| Antec raises the bar for PC performance with TruePower 2.0 Antec, the leading manufacturer of computer hardware and accessories for the upgrade and build your own (BYO) markets, has launched its TruePower 2.0 line of PC power supplies for reliable, quiet and efficient power. TruePower 2.0 builds on Antec's trusted TruePower line of PSUs. The new line of PSUs features Antec's low noise technology to substantially reduce system noise. An independent test lab measures TruePower 2.0 with a noise level of 21 dBA using the ISO 7779 standard for more accurate noise measurement. The PSU comes equipped with a single 120mm low noise fan that runs at the lowest speed appropriate to load and conditions, helping to achieve the optimum balance between noise reduction and necessary cooling. In addition, dedicated fan-only power connectors allow TruePower 2.0 to control the speed of the case fan, further contributing to overall noise reduction. The power supply offers other features such as dual 12V outputs to ensure greater system stability and meet safety requirements. In contrast to traditional PSU designs that share output circuitry, TruePower 2.0 features dedicated output circuitry that allows for maximum power to be delivered to all voltages, resulting in maximum performance. The PSU includes voltage feedback circuitry, which enables tighter tolerances and maintains accurate voltages to all components, adding further stability to the user's system. Additional features include four serial ATA connectors and PCI Express graphic card power connectors. ATX 12V v2.0 compliance allows TruePower 2.0 to consume up to 25% less power than standard power supplies, saving money on electrical bills. The 24-pin power connector with detachable 4-pin section ensures backwards compatibility with ATX 20-pin motherboards. "True silence is important to today's noise-conscious PC users. Many companies claim to produce 'silent' power supplies but often are using varying and inaccurate methods for determining noise levels," said Scott Richards, Antec's world-wide vice-president of sales and marketing. "Using the ISO 7779 standard, we aim to standardise noise levels, thereby creating a more accurate reading of true silence for the consumer. TruePower 2.0 has a reputation for providing the ultimate balance between PC users' need for reliable power and minimum PC noise. By incorporating such features as dual 12V outputs and the introduction of more accurate noise measurement, TruePower 2.0 represents a higher standard for today's PSUs." TruePower 2.0 power supplies are available for an estimated street price ranging from £74.50 to £116, depending on the wattage, through major retailers, e-tailers and distributors. They are backed by Antec's Quality 3-Year Warranty. For additional product information and full technical specifications, please visit www.antec.com
