AMD says no CEO changes planned

Advanced Micro Devices Chairman and CEO Hector Ruiz's role at the company has not changed, AMD said, contrary to rumors that Ruiz plans to step down as CEO.

An internal memo outlining changes in the company's operating structure went out to AMD employees this week, according to sources. The memo clarified the roles of some groups under Dirk Meyer, who was promoted to president and chief operating officer of AMD in April of last year after the company spun off its Spansion flash memory division.
