| AMD Captures 52% of retail market for September The numbers are in for September retail computer sales, and AMD has captured 52% percent to Intel’s 46% with the remaining 2% falling mostly to Apple. They have done this largely on high sales of a budget HP Media Center PC. http://www.amdzone.com/modules.php?o...rder=0&thold=0 The star system of the Media Center movement and AMD’s success was the HP Pavilion a1130n. Running Microsoft’s Media Center OS and offering a 64-bit AMD Athlon 64 processor and 1 Gigabyte of RAM for a post-rebate price of $679; the a1130n has become the best selling Media Center PC in retail to date.
