| AMD "Big Navi" launching before consoles Will be a "halo product" AMD has confirmed that its upcoming Navi 2, also known as Big Navi, will both be AMD's first RNDA 2 based product as well as launch before consoles, suggesting a pre-Holiday release. When speaking at the Bank of America 2020 Securities Global Technology Conference, Devinder Kumar, AMD's Chief Financial Officer, confirmed that Navi 2, will be the first RDNA 2 based product from the company this year, calling it a halo product. Kumar added that "enthusiasts love to buy the best, and we are certainly working on giving them the best", which raises expectations for AMD's upcoming high-end Big Navi graphics card. He also added that the RDNA 2 architecture will cover the entire stack, which means we can expect AMD to cover consoles, and APUs, as well as entry-level, mainstream, and high-end discreet graphics card market. A big part of the story is the fact that AMD expects Big Navi to launch before consoles, and since we know that both next-gen consoles are scheduled for Holiday 2020 release, so first RDNA 2-based PC graphics cards might come in November this year. Hopefully, AMD's RDNA 2 architecture will live up to these expectations but Nvidia is obviously not sitting idly, and we expect a full stack of new RTX cards to come from the green team as well. https://fudzilla.com/news/graphics/5...efore-consoles |
