| AMD Aims to Ship 45.5 Million Microprocessors in 2006 So far AMD shipped 10 million and 9.5 million of microprocessors in Q1 2006 and Q2 2006, respectively, claims DigiTimes web-site. The company reportedly plans to supply 26 million of x86 chips in the second half of the year, about which it supposedly informed its partners among mainboard makers and asked them “to order more desktop CPUs”.
