The two phrases you would never expect to see used in the same sentence are Android and security. CNN reports that the US government is preparing to release test units of modified Android powered devices using customized operating systems to insure secure transmission of sensitive data. The first units will be field tested with soldiers deployed in Afghanistan. The phones will run a modified version of Google's Android software, which is being developed as part of an initiative that spans multiple federal agencies and government contractors.
