| Alienware 15 and 17 notebooks get Coffee Lake update Up to Core i9-8950HK and new G-Sync and non-G-Sync panels Following the launch of Intel's 8th generation Core Coffee Lake CPUs, Alienware has updated its top Alienware 17 and Alienware 15 notebooks with new CPUs. Both the new Alienware 15 and Alienware 17 notebooks use premium materials like anodized aluminum, magnesium alloy, steel-reinforcements, and copper thermal management in order to bring the best possible design. With upgradability in mind, new Alienware notebooks feature a simplified bottom door mechanism. As for specifications, the Alienware 15 R4 will be available with plenty of customization options and starts with a total of six different 15.6-inch panels. You can choose between 1920x1080p IPS 60Hz, 1080p 120Hz TN or 2160p 60Hz IPS displays. Bear in mind that all displays are available in G-Sync versions as well. The new Alienware 15 R4 starts with Core i5-8300HQ quad-core CPU but can be also equipped with either the six-core Core i7-8750H or the high-end Core i9-8950HK CPU. The Alienware 17 is pretty similar as you get three panel choices, all available with or without G-Sync support. You can choose between 17.3-inch 1080p 60Hz IPS, 1440p 120Hz TN+WVA panel with Tobii Eye-tracking or 2160p 60Hz IPS panel with Tobii IR Eye-tracking. Both the Alienware 15 and 17 comes in Epic Silver or Black color options, with standard 68Whr or optional 99Whr battery, a choice between Radeon RX 570 8GB, Geforce GTX 1060 OC 6GB, GTX 1070 OC 8GB or GTX 1080 OC 8GB graphics cards, up to 32GB of DDR4-2666 RAM in two SO-DIMM slots, single, dual or even triple storage configurations, Killer e2500 Gigabit LAN, Killer 1435 802.11ac WiFi with Bluetooth 4.1 as a standard or an optional Killer Wireless 1550 2x2 AC and Bluetooth 5.0. It also comes with plenty of other Alienware exclusive features like the new TactX keyboard, Alienware lighting and more, all controllable via Alienware Command Center. According to Alienware, the G-Sync equipped should start at $1,449.99 for the Alienware 15 and $1,599.99 for the Alienware 17, while non-G-Sync options should start at $1,399.99 and $1,549.99, respectively. Limited configurations should be already available with more expected on April 10th. https://fudzilla.com/news/notebooks/...ee-lake-update |
