| Will this system perform well enough? such as HL2, doom3,republic commando etc? Im talking blowing away lan parties and such, currently this would, but will it last? Should i go with cheaper 256 ram, and a better card? my budget is limited at 850$ us, Thanks for the input! | your gpu suxx donkey balls for games like halflife or doom you should at least get a 9800...and overclock it like hell cpu 3000+ is just as good since you can overclock it to 3400+ level

| this machine performs great, but if the PC has to last long then you should wait for the next-gen video cards |

| 9800 pro eats all the rest, all the big nvidia fans here have been running ati since over a year now... since the 9700 pro (which still kicks *** after one year)

| well, the nVidia 5900XT, a fairly chopped down version of the 5900 ultra, cost about the same as a 57u, and blows it and the 96xt away, totally and make sure that if you buy a seagate sata drive that you buy on that is from the 7200.7 series, because htouse are the first mainstream (non -raptor) drive to be designed from the ground up to be SATA |

| raptor is still using a convertor. so seagate is the first and only true SATA drive. |

| take a 5900 from leadtek and flash it to a 5950U and take a 3000+ 64bit. So it overclocks very good. asus k8v + nvidia = good overclock abit k8v max3 + radeon = good overclock asus k8v + radeon = bummer for overclocking.
