PErformance relation to PSU ? Hi, I got myself involved in a discussion about that effect a PSU has on performance. I got an 6800GT and de PSU is an Enermax 350W. My rig also has a lot of power needed thingies. (3 HD, 1 DVD writer, 2 * 120mm, 5 * 80mm, 1 lcc fluo lamp, some apps on the usb's ... ) Would my 6800GT perform better if hook up an 500 W PSU ? I didn't think so, but other say it does. 3d2005 : 4641 3d2003 : 10739 all stock and no tweaks. (think the cpu is the bottleneck)

Your PSU just has to have stable voltlines. That's all I think.

in one case, yes. if you PSU can't deliver enough voltage, your GPU will clock down because of it (newer nvidia based). but you will know when this happens, an error will display. when this error isn't there, your card will perform equal to a 1000watt PSU.

with more stable voltlines, you'll also be able to overclock higher but don't expect miracles.
