New Computer Problem My friend got a new computer, but because his work can supply him with a copy of Windows XP Pro he didn't get it installed from the factory. But now, he can't get anything running. He has a Serial ATA harddrive, and it says you need the drivers to install, but he needs Windows to get the Drivers, and he has no floppy drive to put the Factory Disk in. Some help please.

you need to get the SATA drivers from the motherboard manufacters website. He could always burn these drivers onto a CD and load them into XP installer and then after that put the XP CD back in to continue installation of OS. Of course he would have to get someone else to burn these drivers for him

you'll need to use disks. Windows XP doesn't have ATAPI drivers laoded at that time. Connect some old floppy drive as a temp solution. It's the only way.
