| I think I fried my HDD , I need the data back ! Hi, The story is as following: I was connecting another Power supply to my pc, and my cd rom drive started to smoke. This is not a problem , but now my 60 GB Maxtor HDD won't react anymore!!! I connected it to various PC's and the I feel that it's not spinning anymore! I have some very important emails and family pictures on that hard drive , and I just bought some new cd's to back it all up , but I didn't do it yet (stupid me). So is there any way I can get it working again , because I need that DATA ! Thanks |

| The freezer trick! Put your disk in an air-sealed plastic bag, let is rest in the freezer for a few minutes (not too long, or the air in your bag wil condensate/freeze) It might work, it might not. In your case, I think it won't because the drive doesn't spin at all. The only way to get some data off the disk then is by sending it to a specialised lab. ($$$) |
