Default Graphics card question..

Doing a bit of trouble shooting to get to bottom of card problem- FX5900. Firstly 3Dmark 2005 system info shows my card as in PCI slot 2 and assigned IRQ19. (instead of 16??) Secondly card has been crashing in a heat related manner even though temps are fine. Been suggested that removing heatsink and re-applying thermal paste might cure this. Anyone here ever had to do this and was it successful?

How did you setup graphic card in BIOS?

AGP or PCI?

AGP. Runs as AGP too. Lists in card properties as AGP x8. So it is probably running that way, its just weird that it lists as PCI slot in info. And that IRQ is 19. Thought this might be an indication as to why it isn`t running 100%. Then again, it maybe nothing. What does other peoples list as??

Thanks. Guess everything is ok there then. That just leaves the matter of re-applying thermal paste to heatsink. Anyone ever do that, and did it get desired results?
