same ?

You said you dropped a HS on your display adapter. I would change that first.

Disable ALL onboard stuff, start with only the basics.

Update bios ... NOW !

Not same, haven't got blue screens in quite a while (a few days, that is).
Bios update: download bin, download awardflash.exe, download all that other ****, wanna do it and after like 10 warning messages it doesn't do it. Just says 'hell no, I won't upgrade cuz you suck' or something like that.
And change what? Display adapter? If you can tell me how to forge Forcom-bills, please do, cuz it's still in warranty (bought it last september, and I reckon warranty's a year) but my dear old mother who was cleaning out my room decided I didn't need those dirty little old papers anymore.
Disabling the onboard stuff: how? There's like 20 entries in my dev man, disable all of them? And I'm using a network card besides my build-in thingamajig, but I can't seem to connect when the cable's plugged in there, driver's installed nice and correctly. Telenet-IP-designating shite?

Mod: just remembered I have an old GF2 at home, I'll change it as soon as I get to it. But that won't be for a few days.

Ain't there a way to check the nature of the problem? Some kind of conflict-searching thingamajig?

Update: the bios-update error:
"The program file's part number does not match with your system."
I just followed the instructions on the Abit-site...

That's because you flashed the wrong bios.

Let me guess:

You have version 2.0 and you flashed the bios for 1.0 or 1.2

http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/...ries=1&model=6

Here's the bios for 2.0
ftp://ftp.abit.com.tw/pub/download/b...2.0/nf7d14.exe

This is wat SiSoft Sandra says about my bios:

System BIOS
Manufacturer : Phoenix Technologies, LTD
Version : 6.00 PG
Date : 03/27/2003
Plug & Play Version : 1.00
SMBIOS/DMI Version : 2.20
(EE)PROM Size : 512kB (4Mbit)

No idea what version that is.
Anyway, I'll go try your solution in a few mins.

Some dude at work told me my GF-cooler is probably b0rked, pc ain't within reach so can't check if he's right, can it be fixed if it is, indeed, fuxx0red? (Asus GF4TI4200 128mb)
Or should I just go out and buy a MSI GF FX5600 256mb? ('Cuz it don't look bad at all, that FX-thingamajig.)
Btw, GF4 is less than a year old (bought it somewhere in september of last year) at forcom, but I lost my receit. :/ If anyone can help me...
