Default 2 versions of windows...

Have a problem with brothers computer. When it boots up it stops and gives an option to choose which version of windows to load, the latest or a previous version. Think he just installed new version of pro over top of home. So was wondering how I go about deleting this older version to speed up boot time but without losing present windows....
