| superpi & PIV-AMD How is this possible? My PIV@2.66 on IT-7 1M calculation time = 1m7s, my xp2000+@1.86 on 8RDA+ 1M calculation time = 0m55s. I'm just wondering wich is the best/fastest combo to keep since there's a laptop coming my way thus making one of these two unneeded. One sale coming up, for real this time, especcialy since the Bartons are available now |

| it purely depends on what you want to do with your PC I had an Abit KR7A-Raid + XP@1500 for a whole year changed it to an Abit TH7II-Raid + P4@2400 and have this one also for +/- a year now. I must say that for OVERALL usage the P4 is acting alot quicker. But pure CPU power the AMD wins hands down, and one clocked near to 2ghz is going to blow away that P4. Multimedia/Movie/Sound -> P4 Gaming/Calculations -> XP

| That's the problem, I do all this stuff, except for the calculating. One big pro for the PIV is it's temp, even at 2.66 & 100% load I can keep it around 50° with a papst ngml, as for the xp I need a ( louder ) delta @7v to keep it from hitting 45° @ 1.86 gig. Since one idiot@work promised me a cheap full wc for the amd but couldn't make it happen, selling the amd seems option n°1 Arf, selling a three weeks old 8rda+ & 2x corsair 3500 is stupid also |
