OK folks,

Here's my latest custom computer built for my nephew, who's birthday is was Thursday, June 14th. It turned out decently enough - but I don't think I got all out of it that I could... ya know?

This machine is also kind of an example of what not to do when building a custom computer. First and foremost - Don't wait til the last minute to do it all... especially when you've had almost all year to get it done. Second, read all the directions on things like paint and stuff before applying and make sure the clear coat will actually work with the paint you choose. And finally, don't use something you want to actually turn out nice as a gift for someone else as an experimental platform - it creates way too much stress when you're not sure if you just messed up the whole tamale or actually discovered a new finish.

Here's a teaser picture:

I haven't actually put the link up on my site yet - I want to wait until after the birthday party, just in case he pokes around on my site and accidentally discovers his present.

I'm also hoping he'll do the decent thing and snap me some more pictures - interior and in a darkened room with the inside lights on.

Outstanding job on the paint and window mod. Did you do the skull with an airbrush?
