Default gf ti4600

I got an old Creative 3d blaster gf 4 ti4600 from someone with what seems severe core problems ( gives green lines in dos , only boots in windows in save mode or when drivers aren't installed )

I tried to put some custom cooling on the core but that didnt help

I want to try and flash the cards bios before i throw it away tho ,

i downloaded nvflash and tried to flash the bios with the latest 4600 bios on this page : http://whitebunny.demon.nl/hardware/chipset_nvidia.html

but in dos i get the message "pci subsystem ID mismatch"
i tried to find the creative bios on the net but didn't find it :x
maybe the name and numbers on the bios chip may be of use ? its SSTmpf 39VF010
90-4C-NH
0142006-D
and the video encoder chip is from CONEXANT

i find the nvflash utility a bit hard to use , can anyone hold my hand and guide me throug this ? i hope i've provided enough info

tx in advance

if your card is giving lines in bios and windows, its borked.

no use in flashing it.

hmm, I got 3 dead Ti4600's, they all got the same as topicstarter.
downclocking them didn't help.

Default It worked :)

I first copied an 4200 bios onto the card , it booted fine and no artifacts, cranked the clock speeds up with rivatuner to stock 4600 settings , no prob

then i just reflashed a 4600 bios , works fine

strange thing is tho , i get a lower score witn this 4600 128 meg @ 300/688 then with my 4200 310/521 on aquamark

( 18000 with 4600 19200 with 4200 , same driver )

but i think ill keep the card for the extra 46 mb ram

cheers

extra 64 typo in my humble opinion

it's possible the reflashing lowered the memory timings..
