Default Average or hot?

Got the desktop working recently, but I'm a tad concerned, the CPU at idle sits in the 29-32C range and goes up to about 40C when I'm playing Microsoft Train Simulator with Folding@Home and other apps in the background. The CPU is at stock speeds and Rambo says his maxes at 45C and his is at 3.03GHz.

Do I need a case fan to help get the air circulating in the tower box?

you might start off by saying what kind of CPU you have.

In another thread you mentioned a E6300, and us far as my experiance goes, under 50 is not bad.

You might also want to tell us what kinda case and cooling your are using. But if your CPU idles at 29-32C and reaches 40C under load then I would say your CPU is running VERY, and I mean VERY cool. I run an AMD X2 3800+ @ 2.4Ghz and it idles at 37-44C and reaches up to 60C under load. It's cooled by a Cooler Master 6+, 2 rear 80mm fans and 3 80mm intake (one is at the top, two in the front).

Well, to make a compare, my c2d is idling around 50°C most of the time (measured with Intel tool), and I'm not using a housing.

my E6400 idles (@ 50% OC, CNPS9700 @ 6.5V and 17,5°C room temp) at 21°C cpu temp (with 24°C individual core temp readout) in a chieftec case with 2 92mm intakes and 2 80mm outtakes all at 6.5V.
