| Athlon 64 oc trouble I have recently built a new cpu (my first) and its running great, but now I am trying to overclock it. I bought AMD because I was told they are more accepting of overclocking. Here is the max I can get to be stable. Please let me know what I am doing wrong and what my settings should be. (I can't even find the multiplier in BIOS) Hardware- Case: Aspire ATX Full Tower (6 case fans running) MoBo: Asus K8V Deluxe CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3000+ CPU Cooling: Thermaltake Silentboost K8 RAM: 1024 MB DDR Corsair XMS PC3200 Vid: ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128 MB All-in-wonder Power: 420 W Settings- CPU FSB: 210 MHz CPU Speed/Voltage: Auto DDR Voltage: Auto AGP Voltage: 1.5V V-Link Voltage: 2.5V Performance: Auto Temp- CPU: 36C (idle)/ 42C (full) Case: 26C - 31C Again, I couldn't find the multiplier in the bios, and I can't figure out why it won't go over 210 MHz . Also, the Silentboost isn't bad, but if anyone has any suggestions for a better heatsink/fan for the cpu I am open to suggestions. Sorry for the lengthy post. Thanks for any help out there |
