Icon17 Rydermark benchmark inches closer to release

RyderMark™ is a free cutting-edge DirectX 9 benchmark for the PC hardware enthusiast and gaming communities.

Utilising a proprietary multithreaded game engine and based on an actual game scheduled for future release, the benchmark shows off exciting real-time 3D graphics features while stress testing the latest hardware. RyderMark is ideal for benchmarking the latest high-end PCs with dual core CPUs and graphics cards with 512Mb of RAM or more.

Some of the cutting-edge effects in the benchmark include:

* True 64-bit High Dynamic Range Lighting with Antialiasing
* Parallax Occlusion Mapping
* Soft Shadows
* Normal Mapping
* Soft Particles
* Full Scene Motion Blur
* Depth-of-Field
* Heat Haze
* Volumetric Explosion
* Realistic Water Physics

RyderMark is the first major benchmark to show off Parallax Occlusion Mapping. It provides a vast improvement in image quality over the older Bump Mapping or Parallax Mapping techniques.

Unlike a synthetic benchmark, RyderMark uses 3D models, textures and shaders developed for an actual videogame. This provides gamers with real world results which they can use to make future hardware buying decisions. Complete with true 5.1 Surround Sound, RyderMark provides an unrivaled real-time visual feast for the PC hardware and gaming cognoscenti.

RyderMark will be available free for download from all the major file download and gaming websites.
