Here's some HD Tune stats I ran before putting the drive in my Thinkpad, the benchmark system is a Quad-core Q6600 with 4GB RAM on Vista.

The first drive to compare the Core to is the oldish WD1500ADFD Raptor, which I use on my desktop:

interesting post John, you and I both know a flash storage doesn't fluctuated like that in writing as shown in 4th post.....

maybe someone should put a buffer DRAM on the controller, then again, it won't be my issue anymore

check the linkie in the previous post for some write tests , as expected smaller file chunks do much worse on the SSD, once you hit 64kb though it's 80mb/s write speed all the way
