Apple's bizarre AR and VR rules

Don’t call them Vision Pro apps

Fruity cargo cult Apple is trying to slap some daft rules on those who want to release apps for its overpriced Vision Pro’s visionOS.

Jobs’ Mob doesn't want developers to use the words AR and VR when talking about Vision Pro apps, but rather call them "spatial computing apps.”

"Spatial computing: Call your app a spatial computing app. Don't say your app experience is augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), extended reality (XR), or mixed reality (MR)", the company says.

The headset should be called "Apple Vision Pro" with three big words, while "visionOS starts with a small v, even when it's the first word in a sentence." The words should never be changed or written in another language; Apple added.
