The Samsung Digitmax S700 digital camera incorporates some of the features that are not common from the traditional camera makers such as Nikon and Canon. The Digimax S700 may satisfy most users looking for low cost, point and shoot family duties with maximum 7.2 MegaPixels resolution and readily available household AA battery.

Samsung is a familiar name amongst some hard core PC enthusiasts in recent years for their performance in system memory and LCD displays. A company growing leaps & bounds in 30 years time to become world leader consumer electronics and in IT industry is engaging the camera industry, providing affordable and cheap digital cameras.

The Samsung Digimax S700 and S1000 were introduced at second half of last year at MSRP of about $250 and $300 respectively. The price of the S700 has since dropped to $110. Geeks Computer Parts was kind enough to send us a sample to explore this low cost digital camera and share our experience with our readers. Can Samsung be a formidable digital camera maker in this well established market? Let's find out.
