A Closer Look

In the bottom right corner of the K9N we find a small red “Clear CMOS” button, six SATA (II) ports, the controller supports RAID 0/1/0+1/JBOD.

At the top right of the board are the DDR2 memory slots, one IDE and one Floppy connector, as well as the 24-pin ATX power input.

The North- and Southbridge are cooled by copper heatsinks linked together by a heat pipe, a small fan on the Northbridge provides adequate airflow without being too noisy.
