Introduction:

HEC Compucase consists of three major manufacturing divisions: Switching Mode Power Supplies, Computer Housing and Power Adapter/Inverter, hence the name HEC-Group. Established in 1979, HEC went public in Aug, 2000 incorporated in Taiwan with manufacturing facilities in both Taiwan and Mainland China.

Win 550 tested here earlier was part of retail market new products launch. With over 4 million power supplies shipped last year, HEC is one of the key switching power supply manufacturer.



Currently, HEC-Group manufacturers all the products in Shenzhen City, China, while its Taiwan Corporate office manages and houses R&D, Marketing, Sales and Finance.

The Shenzhen plant has been in operation for 11 years, employing about 2,900 local residence. The rainy season started at the same time I arrived two weeks ago. Security guards let me in from the front gate, minute later Mr. Frank Lin (Plant Manager) showed up to greet me.

Before I start, let's take a quick glance at HEC's current production status and key measures.





Some impressive monthly production numbers, HEC is a major player in the PC OEM and Private label markets covering ATX/Server cases, Power Supplies and adapters.





In order to service and support its customers, HEC focuses on Research & Development, Production Engineering Support and logistics. However, my trip and this report is to take a good look at their power supply production and I will save the PC case for next time.
