Introduction:Casegears is a newly formed Company in meeting the current retail market demand for PC chassis and Power Supply. While the company website is still "under construction", a review sample arrived at my door step within 3 days of the initial contact. With limited information I could gather at this point, Casegears associates in ATX case manufacturing in Taiwan supply the local market for many years, and continues its growth into Power Supply. I am confident that we will hear more about their product channel of distribution and detail Company background shortly afterward. Today, we will examine their
"Tri-Mirror X-Plug Modular 450 Watts" Power Supply.
I have to admit that the mirror black finish has an outstanding look.Click to enlarge Power SpecificationsWith the lack of product information from the manufacturer site, this is what I can offer at this time. Lots of 3.3 and 5 Volt wattage and not enough on the 12 Volt rail so it seems. I assure you that this PSU weights in similar to other high quality units I came across lately such as
Seasonic S12 and
Sunbeam NUUO, which is a good signaling this is no “El Cheapo” despite the unknown name.

The model name "Tri Mirror" suggests the two see-thru side panels and mirror like chrome finish, together with the 3-fan configuration I presume. The unit has 2x60mm fans facing the motherboard side and an 80mm rear exhaust, all at single speed. The unit requires the "white glove" treatment; or else finger prints will be all over just by looking at it.
For the same reason stated previously, my ruler comes in to assist.
