Chenbro Gaming Bomb Case

Cases & PSU/Cases by piotke @ 2003-11-28

We were offered to take a closer look at the Gaming Bomb Case from Chenbro, the design is unusual and might not appeal to everyone. One of our reviewers stated on our forums that he found the case ugly and unappealing. So we gave him the task of reviewing his "favourite" case, the ultimate test for both sides. Will this case please our reviewer? Or will he keep his negative view on it. Read on to find out!

Installation

Screwless ?

Let’s start from the outside to the inside. Opening the case is really easy. Open the key lock on the rear panel, and push the special lock switch up. The left panel can now be easily removed. When you look at the case, you see 2 green clips. Pull them to you, and “click – click”, the front panel can be removed.

Unlock it first, read the mini manual and push the extra lock up:

And it's open! Front panel now:

On the bottom of the case, there are some rails attached. These can be removed, also by pulling a clip, and are needed to put your 5.25” or 3.5” drive in the case, just by clocking it into their correct position.
Which also may come in handy is the drive rack. This can also be removed by pulling a clip. But hey, this time it wouldn’t work. There was a screw that needed to be removed. They made it easy for us, because it’s a small thumbscrew, but 1 screw makes no screwless case…
Installing a CD-rom/DVD or other 5.25" drive is easy. Click in the rails on the drive and then slide it in the case. The hard disk on the other hand has to be screwed in... No rail or other fancy system...

The removable hard disk rack & the special rails:

No screws huh?

Now comes the part of installing the add-on cards. This looks really cool. It’s like reloading an old gun. I don’t know how to describe it, but a picture makes everything clear. This is really something good; I’ve never seen it before…

Ready ? Load and fire !

Adding the rails on the CD-RW drive, and as you can see, it's nicely covered by the front cover.

So far the installation, let's take a look at how this case dissipates heat...
