Brando Bond Spy Sport Watch With Camera/Mic/4Gb USB Review

The Brando Bond Spy Sport Watch is a gadget with multiple functions: it can take photos, video with audio or record only audio. For recharges, when we do not have the computer near, we also get a power adapter and the 4Gb memory inside the watch can be also used as a storage device.

The Bond Spy Watch from Brando is surely a very interesting device, we cannot find many like them on the market. It does not look bad at all, and it is really comfortable to wear.

It has, however some weak spots like very low quality photos and audio recording; video is, however, much more decent.

The watch can be charged using the included power adapter (which I found hard to connect to wall sockets without the use of an adapter), but also by plugging it in a spare port of our PC, which I found more convenient.

Because it lacks a preview screen, we have to guess how to point the device when taking photos or recording videos.

The watch also gives us the opportunity to display the time/date of the recording by embedding it into the video (this feature can be also be removed by modifying the content of a .txt file that must be in the root of the Flash memory).

I had, however, an issue with the watch when testing it outside; after taking some photos, recording some audio and making some little videos, the device remained with the status red LED lit and unresponsive. At the end of the manual, we have some troubleshooting tips; one of them tells us that if the device becomes unresponsive, we have to press simultaneously the Mode and Operation buttons. I tried that for multiple times, but nothing happened. After about one hour and a half, the status LED turned off, but the device went also dead and needed a recharge (which I did when I arrived home).

The video files tend to fill up the device pretty quick and the audio files are recorded in WAV format instead of MP3, at 64kbps bitrate. Audio is heard with some static and the mechanism inside the watch makes often sounds louder than the audio we want to record (as it can be seen on the previous page).

The product can be bought at Brando Store for about 49$ and it is shipping worldwide!

I would like to thank again to Brando for giving me the chance to test out this interesting device!
