AQIRYS ARA Gaming Headset Review

Audio/Others by stefan @ 2024-10-16

We have tested ARA in games such as The Crew Motorfest, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, Dustborn but also Diablo 4; the EQ this product does use results in clear highs, balanced mids, while the bass is not overpowering the whole experience. The offered volume is impressively loud, meaning we never felt the need to use it over 50%, while the overall low weight of about 311g is ideal not to notice you are wearing the headset after longer gaming sessions. ARA is constructed from good quality plastic so it won’t creak during adjustment process.

A Closer Look Part II

AQIRYS is always supplying the customers with a nice set of stickers:

The manual gives us an in-depth look on the interface, but also the usage modes:

A handy bundle component is the carry bag, something to be appreciated when talking about an entry-level product:

In a separate transparent bag, we will get the microphone, one wireless ultra-low-latency USB dongle, a 0.6m break-away cable, an USB cable but also a Stereo cable:

The microphone connects via a TRS 3.5mm jack plug to the headset and comes with a flexible body:

Its housing is made of black plastic, with a small orifice in the middle:

Here is a look on the opposite area of the housing as well; in terms of technical details, the microphone does have an omnidirectional pattern, with a frequency response between 100 Hz and 10 KHz, with a sensitivity of -42 +/- 3 dB, while the impedance is set at <= 2200 Ohms:

Speaking of the dongle, this time it looks like a small USB Flash drive; initially the USB connector is covered by a semi-transparent plastic cap:

Obviously, we can remove this cap and use the dedicated dongle cover, which rotates along the chassis:
