AQIRYS THEMIS Gamepad Review

Others/Miscelleneous by stefan @ 2024-08-23

The THEMIS controller feels much better in hand in terms of comfort when compared to the STRATUS DUO we have reviewed quite a bit of time ago; the AQIRYS model has more features, dual-motor vibration to enhance immersion, a six axis motion sensor and a 2-point touchpad for a selection of games, a stereo headset jack with microphone support but also an integrated 1W speaker, used in games where developers have made use of this particular feature.

The top left small button is the Share, used on PS consoles:

The top left analog stick is rubber coated and is also surrounded by a RGB ring:

The controller handles integrate semi-transparent arches to allow RGB lighting to shine through:

Moving on, we will note the 8-direction D-Pad:

The Home button can be used for quickly waking up the gamepad, but also for turning it off (by keeping the button pressed for 10 seconds); Turbo functions can be also enabled using the dedicated button for L1, L2, R1, R2, but also all frontal buttons:

We have a 3.5mm audio port for connecting headsets with microphone:

The headset does also include a 1W speaker, which is operational only in titles which use such feature; same goes for the trackpad, which can be used by various games for controlling the cursor, performing specific in-game actions, to control the camera and so on:

In the top right area, we do have the Options button:

The right analog stick is also surrounded by a LED RGB ring:
