AQIRYS THEMIS Gamepad Review

Others/Miscelleneous by stefan @ 2024-08-23

The THEMIS controller feels much better in hand in terms of comfort when compared to the STRATUS DUO we have reviewed quite a bit of time ago; the AQIRYS model has more features, dual-motor vibration to enhance immersion, a six axis motion sensor and a 2-point touchpad for a selection of games, a stereo headset jack with microphone support but also an integrated 1W speaker, used in games where developers have made use of this particular feature.

A Closer Look Part II

We have plenty of stickers to choose from to fit with our gaming setup:

The controller is all black and is held securely inside a sponge material:

An accessory box does contain more goodies:

Here we will note the BT 5.0 dongle, but also the USB cable:

The dongle is not the smallest we have seen around with gamepads, but in many cases being larger does help with signal strength and smaller latency:

On its back we will be able to see an interesting design, along with a pair button:

Here is a view from the back as well:

The supplied cable is USB-A on the computer/console side and USB-C on the controller side; we appreciate the braiding for additional durability but also the fact AQIRYS has used a flexible design with it:

THEMIS comes with a button layout like the one we are seeing with Xboxes, meaning we do have the left analog stick in the upper left corner, while the right analog stick is placed near the D-Pad. We are seeing goodies from the Playstation controller here, such as the top middle touch pad and the surrounding light bar, the speaker, the headset jack and the top left/right small buttons:
