AQIRYS THEMIS Gamepad Review

Others/Miscelleneous by stefan @ 2024-08-23

The THEMIS controller feels much better in hand in terms of comfort when compared to the STRATUS DUO we have reviewed quite a bit of time ago; the AQIRYS model has more features, dual-motor vibration to enhance immersion, a six axis motion sensor and a 2-point touchpad for a selection of games, a stereo headset jack with microphone support but also an integrated 1W speaker, used in games where developers have made use of this particular feature.

Packaging, A Closer Look Part I

AQIRYS has impressed us recently with another product release, practically extending to another segment, gamepads with compatibility amongst many devices. THEMIS is the name of the new peripheral, sharing this with the Greek Titaness of Justice and Order but also the asteroid 24 Themis, which is part of the Themis family in the outer asteroid belt.

The product is shipped inside a medium-sized cardboard enclosure, with an outer layer which shows a photo of the product in operation, but also highlights the main features via icons:

These are also shown on the side, in multiple languages:

The opposite area will give more details on the trackpad, the ergonomic design but also on the Hall sensor triggers:

AQIRYS did not skip including the product serial number, box contents (shown as drawings), the code name but also a secondary code. Here we will learn THEMIS is backed up by a 2-year warranty, while the manual can be downloaded online via the QR code found on the box:

On the back, we have a detailed view of the product, highlighting the main interfaces, the full list of features and product specifications, but also the list of compatible systems:

After removing the top layer, we will note a saying which reminds the user of the wireless capabilities of THEMIS:

After lifting the top cover, we will immediately spot a leaflet but also a nice set of stickers:

The leaflet does show us an exemplification of the connection modes:
