We will revisit the Armor A60 Portable HDD from Silicon Power, now with the 5TB capacity to check its performance. 5TB should be sufficient to have as storage along your media center attached to the TV or in some cases for having it along with you during travel. It incorporates a 3-meter freefall test and 3m military-grade shockproof enclosure (MIL-STD 810G Method 516.6 Procedure IV), while the used USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface does not bottleneck the internal drive capabilities.
The product was shipped inside a medium-sized cardboard enclosure, which shows a photo of the product in the front, along with some of its main highlights such as shock-proof and water spill resistance:
The side area will show us how to attach the fixing buckle to the Armor A60 chassis or how to have the cable used as standalone:
Silicon Power does offer an estimation regarding how many multimedia files should fit on the drive, depending on the capacity:
On the back, we will get a small QR code for warranty activation, the list of product specifications, the package contents, system requirements, details on the SP Service Centers but also the internal product name and serial number:
After removing the product from the external cardboard box, we will note it is also held secure inside a transparent plastic mold; we will also receive the buckle set and the USB cable:
Here is a close look at the supplied buckle set:
The cable is USB-A to USB-A to ensure maximum durability:
The Armor A60 enclosure does have a height of 23.2 mm, a width of 85.9 mm and a length of 138.5 mm; the outer frame is made of silicone (available in green and black colors, depending on the SKU). The cover comes with a grid-textured surface which is anti-slip and also helps against scratches and fingerprint accumulation:
On the bottom, we will note the secondary plastic shell, but through it there is space for accommodating the two silicone feet; a product sticker is available here as well:
The frame does also accommodate the channel for cable routing:
