ENDORFY Thock 75% Wireless Red Onyx White Pudding Gaming Keyboard Review

Others/Mice & Keyboards by stefan @ 2024-07-07

After fiddling a bit with the software settings, we fired up Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, The First Descendant, Alan Wake II but also New World. The keyboard felt very responsive, with the pleasant actuation as we have also found with CHERRY MX Reds. In terms of bottoming out noise, this one places itself in the middle of the pack, since it does not come with as much dampening layers as we noted with other brands, but overall it does its job admirably.

A Closer Look Part II

The same type of plating is used on the keyboard-side, which this time is USB-C; for an unknown reason, the manufacturer has chosen to provide the connector a custom shape, a fact which would make 3rd party cables incompatible with the keyboard:

Thock 75% Wireless Pudding Onyx White looks great with the top aluminum cover, complementing the white plastic frame:

In the lower left corner, the Endorfy logo is printed in a debossed manner:

The key legends do come with a custom font:

The directional keys are close together with the others and feature no extra separations:

The top right corner features the Volume wheel, a bit too close to the Insert and Print Screen keys; we guess a lower height of the wheel could have done the trick?

The keyboard battery status can be checked out thanks to the Endorfy logo key color; three Bluetooth channels are available for pairing to different devices, and these are accessible via the Endorfy key + 1,2 or 3. Connection via wireless dongle is turned on when pressing the Endorfy key and 4. While these functions are not printed on the keycaps, we can enable the following:

Endorfy key plus

-F1 = Computer

-F2 = Web Browser

-F3 = Calculator

-F4 = Music Player

-F5 = Previous Track

-F6 = Next Track

-F7 = Play/Pause

-F8 = Stop

-F9 = Mute

-F10 = Volume Down

-F11 = Volume Up

-Arrow Up = Lighting Brightness Up

-Arrow Down = Lighting Brightness Down

-Arrow Right = Increase RGB Effect Speed

-Arrow Left = Decrease RGB Effect Speed

- Minus = Effect Direction

- Equal = Backlight Color Change

- PrtScr = RGB Modes Switch

With the Endorfy key and Windows key for 2 seconds, we can enable Gaming Mode, with two seconds on W we can swap the functionality of WASD keys and arrow keys, with PgUp we can enable Home and with PgDn we can enable End. A keyboard software reset can be also done with Endorfy key and Esc for 3 seconds’ press.

If we look on the side of the keyboard, we will note the inclination of the rows:

In the front, we have designated holes for the cable routing system:

In the Volume wheel area, but on the plastic frame, we will have a small switch to choose between Off, wireless mode and wired mode:
