ENDORFY Thock 75% Wireless Red Onyx White Pudding Gaming Keyboard Review

Others/Mice & Keyboards by stefan @ 2024-07-07

After fiddling a bit with the software settings, we fired up Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, The First Descendant, Alan Wake II but also New World. The keyboard felt very responsive, with the pleasant actuation as we have also found with CHERRY MX Reds. In terms of bottoming out noise, this one places itself in the middle of the pack, since it does not come with as much dampening layers as we noted with other brands, but overall it does its job admirably.

Impressions and Conclusive Thoughts

After fiddling a bit with the software settings, we fired up Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, The First Descendant, Alan Wake II but also New World. The keyboard felt very responsive, with the pleasant actuation as we have also found with CHERRY MX Reds. In terms of bottoming out noise, this one places itself in the middle of the pack, since it does not come with as much dampening layers as we noted with other brands, but overall it does its job admirably.

Thock 75% Wireless Red Onyx White Pudding really helps creating space on the desktop thanks to its 75% form factor and a lot of functions are available without installing the dedicated software via the Endorfy key; these are not actually printed on the keycaps, so we would need to learn these from the manual.

The main highlight of this particular model is the inclusion of the Pudding keycaps, which look great thanks to their semi-transparent sides, transmitting light between the switches without the need of an extra semi-transparent layer underneath, as other manufacturers employ as a solution to this. The aluminum layer helps with durability, the keyboard can be cleaned easier this way, while another plus would be the board, which supports switch hot-swap with 3-pin and 5-pin models (this should be a standard with many gaming keyboards these days).

The dedicated software does include the necessary options, only it acts weird if we do not also have the keyboard connected by wire while in wireless mode; we really hope this issue would be fixed in future revisions of the utility, since the keyboard runs perfectly fine in wireless mode in any other instances.

The Thock 75% Wireless Red Onyx White Pudding is priced fair at about 93 Euros at the moment of the review, so we won’t hesitate to recommend it as a mainstream product.
