Shuttle XPC slim DL30N Barebone Review

Others/All-in-one PC by stefan @ 2024-07-21

XPC slim DL30N is an entry-level, completely fanless miniPC from Shuttle that does not concentrate on performance, but low power consumption. The Intel N100 is only equipped with E-cores and despite the advertised 3.4 GHz boost clocks, this speed is only available for very short periods of time and when the system is not loaded on all cores; the PL1 Power Limit is set at 6W and for not exceeding this value while all cores are loaded, the speed will decrease even to about 900MHz! The Shuttle cooling system is doing its job great, so we did not see temperatures exceeding 52 degrees Celsius even at highest loads, so we cannot say the lowered clocks are because of throttling.

A Closer Look Part VI

For the memory, we have chosen a Silicon Power DDR5-4800 CL40 16GB SODIMM module:

Storage was assured by our Silicon Power A60 512GB SSD, a model we have used with other barebones in the past as well:

The PS02 accessory which features the vertical stand kit was also supplied to us by Shuttle:

The stands are also accompanied by the necessary screws:

On the bottom, we will note rubber feet:

The installation is easy, we only need to follow the mounting instructions from Shuttle:

Here is the DL30N in its final form:
