SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 Wireless Gaming Headset Review

Audio/Others by stefan @ 2024-07-31

After working a bit with the settings in Sonar, we fired up The Callisto Protocol, DOOM, Wolfenstein: The New Order but also Escape The Backrooms. Even if we are dealing with 40mm drivers, the audio quality is well balanced, with clear highs and well represented bass. We did enjoy the spatialization, while the microphone quality really impresses in terms of clarity.

A Closer Look Part III

A closer look does reveal the product code name, the power rating, but also the FCC ID:

Here is how the assembly does look, when the dongle is plugged into the extender:

The Arctis Nova 5 Wireless has a cardboard protection layer around the flexible headband:

The product adopts an all-black color scheme and is mainly made from plastic, for keeping the weight very low and to provide optimal comfort:

On the exterior are of the cups, we will note a white SteelSeries logo:

The left cup does come with the Power button, the Power indicator LED but also the QuickSwitch button, which allows navigating between 2.4GHz and BT audio. If no BT device is paired when QuickSwitch is pressed, the headset will enter pairing mode:

The USB-C charging port will be used for charging purposes but also for performing firmware updates:

On the left cup, we have the retractable microphone, a design we prefer to the removable designs:

The body of the mic is very flexible, features a Bidirectional Noise Cancelling polar pattern, a frequency response between 100 and 10000 Hz @ 32 kHz/16bit, while the microphone sensitivity is -38 dBV/Pa:
