SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 Wireless Gaming Headset Review

Audio/Others by stefan @ 2024-07-31

After working a bit with the settings in Sonar, we fired up The Callisto Protocol, DOOM, Wolfenstein: The New Order but also Escape The Backrooms. Even if we are dealing with 40mm drivers, the audio quality is well balanced, with clear highs and well represented bass. We did enjoy the spatialization, while the microphone quality really impresses in terms of clarity.

Impressions and Conclusive Thoughts

After working a bit with the settings in Sonar, we fired up The Callisto Protocol, DOOM, Wolfenstein: The New Order but also Escape The Backrooms. Even if we are dealing with 40mm drivers, the audio quality is well balanced, with clear highs and well represented bass. We did enjoy the spatialization, while the microphone quality really impresses in terms of clarity.

SteelSeries headsets are well known for their good wear comfort and the Nova 5 Wireless makes no exception! Even if we are dealing with a 60-hour battery life, the product remains light so we will barely notice while wearing it during intense gaming sessions. The retractable microphone design is our favorite and we can easily switch between wireless and BT 5.3 via the dedicated button. Fast Charge is available so we can plug in the Nova 5 Wireless for just 15 minutes, and we will get about 6 hours of extra use.

The Sonar application via SteelSeries GG is quite complex and offers quite a bit of mixer options for streamers and for regular users. As an extra, we will get the mobile application so we can have control on-the-fly to the EQs but also to microphone-related options.

The Arctis Nova 5 Wireless is currently available online for about 135 Euros, a fair value for what we do receive.
