CHERRY MC 9620 FPS RGB Gaming Mouse Review

Others/Mice & Keyboards by stefan @ 2024-06-02

MC 9620 FPS from CHERRY is an interesting mainstream offering, based on the proven PMW3360 and offering enough extra buttons for configuration purposes, when thinking more about a design meant for First Person Shooters. Granted, this is not one of the lightest mice we have encountered, but fits well in hand given its larger footprint with the palm rest extended, allowing accommodation of multiple hand shapes and sizes.

A Closer Look Part II

In the front, we will note the long left/right click buttons, the RGB-enabled scroll wheel and the DPI step adjustment buttons:

A RGB effect switch is present as well with the CHERRY logo:

On the left side of the mouse, we do have two programmable buttons, but also a textured surface for the thumb rest:

Further down, we do have an aluminum layer with LED diffusers which inform the user the current DPI step the mouse is in:

The curved palm rest is fully-adjustable thanks to the button near the CHERRY logo one; the release button must be pressed inwards before moving the palm rest, otherwise the assembly will break!

With the palm rest fully extended, we will take note of the adjustment holes inside the mouse chassis:

The right side of the mouse is quite identical to the left, minus the programmable buttons:

The bottom PTFE feet are in a number of four and allow the mouse to glide smoothly on the surface, despite its heavier weight; we will note two stickers here, one of which carries the power rating, but also the PMW3360 sensor lens. The PMW3360 is not exactly a new sensor and was used by many manufacturers in the past:

The aluminum cover is easily removable since it is held secure with magnets:
