CHERRY MC 9620 FPS RGB Gaming Mouse Review

Others/Mice & Keyboards by stefan @ 2024-06-02

MC 9620 FPS from CHERRY is an interesting mainstream offering, based on the proven PMW3360 and offering enough extra buttons for configuration purposes, when thinking more about a design meant for First Person Shooters. Granted, this is not one of the lightest mice we have encountered, but fits well in hand given its larger footprint with the palm rest extended, allowing accommodation of multiple hand shapes and sizes.

Packaging, A Closer Look Part I

With the MC 9620 FPS, CHERRY is proposing a mainstream mouse for both gaming and productivity, being equipped with nine buttons and a PixArt PMW3360 sensor for a maximum of 12000 DPI. This is a wired model, equipped with RGB effects, the coolest thing though being the illuminated logo in the back.

The mouse is shipped inside a compact cardboard enclosure, which shows the MC 9620 FPS in operation:

On the side, we will note detailed info regarding the included sensor and button switches:

A full list of features is available on the back, in multiple languages, but also the box contents description:

The top cover opens up like a small book, giving us some more insights on the model; we will be also able to observe how the chassis of the mouse does look like via the transparent plastic layer:

Besides the mouse, we will also receive the Operating Manual:

A warning message is present on the internal packaging layer:

To be more exact, we are instructed on how to work with the palm rest extension function; not following the written instructions may damage the mouse:

More details on this are present in the manual:

The MC 9620 FPS is all-black, with a textured plastic chassis and no rubberized elements, except the scroll wheel. When compared to the mice we have tried in the past, this one is in the heavier category, with a total of 130g without the included weights:
